Missing HubSpot App Marketplace permissions?

What's the issue?

When installing the HubSpot integration from Salesroom, some users have experienced a HubSpot issue saying You need the App Marketplace access permission set to install this app.

Why?

Starting Monday, October 16th, 2023, HubSpot has implemented an update mandating the need for App Marketplace Access permission during the initial installation of any public app. This change will affect any HubSpot user installing any public app when the app has not been previously installed in the HubSpot account. It's worth noting that this solution applies not only to Salesroom but also to the installation of any app from the HubSpot marketplace.

You can refer to the official changelog announcement from HubSpot for more details.

How to resolve it?

You do not need to be a Super Admin to install an App. However, a Super Admin needs to enable "App Marketplace access" for any user who is not a Super Admin and needs to install an app.

1. Go to Users and Teams

As a Super Admin, go to your Profile & Preferences and select Users and Teams from the side menu. Select the appropriate user and click "edit permissions" on their record.

2. Edit permissions

From there you will see a list of options. Scroll down to the bottom of the list, you will need to expand "Account" and click "Settings".

From the list of setting access, you need to toggle "App Marketplace Access" to ON.

Your user permissions should be set after saving these settings and the user will be able to install any public app from the HubSpot marketplace into their account.
