To help limit distractions, or make meetings more fun, you can now blur your background or apply a custom virtual background.
🗣️ This feature is only available in Chromium based browsers, but we recommend Chrome for the best experience.
Before joining a Meeting
You can set up your blur or virtual background by opening Settings from the meeting lobby, or using the quick menu.
If you decide to upload your own background image we recommend using JPG/PNG images at 1280x720 resolution.
During a Meeting
You can also access the effects panel during the meeting, by clicking Menu -> Background Effect
Troubleshooting Effects
If you're having issues getting background effects to work, here are a few steps to try:
Try another browser or device, we suggest Chrome.
Try clearing your cache and cookies
For custom images, try resizing to our recommended sizes or convert the file to a JPG/PNG
🗣️ Using background blur or a virtual background image adds additional load to your computer. If you are noticing performance issues we recommend turning off background effects.
